16 Cars Seized by US Customs

16 cars bound for Vietnam, plus four more in Vietnam were seized in a recent investigation based out of Long Beach, CA. The containers were marked "used vehicle equipment". When the containers were opened, they were found to contain stolen cars including the $280,000 Ferrari F458.

CARSON, Calif. -- Customs officials in Southern California say they've intercepted 16 stolen vehicles including Ferraris, Mercedes and Audis that were bound for Asia.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Tuesday showed off the estimated $1.5 million worth of cars seized at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
The highlight is a Ferrari 458 Italia valued at well over $280,000.
Director of Field Operations Carlos Martel says a Ferrari dealer tipped off Customs in February, and most of the cars were seized last week when a just-departed ship was ordered to return to port.
Officers found the cars inside containers marked "used exercise equipment."
Four more cars from the operation were seized in Vietnam.
Martel says the investigation remains in its early stages and no one has been arrested.
